○ Board member and executive board member of Bread for the World, Washington DC, 1992 - 1998. A Christian citizens anti hunger lobbying group.

○ Two grown daughters who attended West U Elementary. Catherine attended Pershing and Alyce attended Lanier. Both graduated from the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts.
○ Member of Christ the King Lutheran Church since 1973. Former church council president. Current member of the choir and brass choir.
○ Member of Houston Saengerbund – Houston’e oldest German singing society.
○ Member of Houston Philosophical Society, Rice University.
